A 13th person has died from legionnaires' disease in Quebec City. The outbreak has led to 177 recorded cases. Officials believe the illness is under control because no one has become sick since Aug. 29. Public-health authorities say the illness has been controlled because they have disinfected the cooling systems in more than 100 buildings. The deadly bacteria grows in the stagnant water of cooling systems and spreads in little droplets through air conditioning.
