Police arrested a man in Oak Bay after a homeowner reported that someone was on his property while watching his home-security video with a remote device.

Oak Bay police received a call from the homeowner that someone was on his property in the 500-block of St Patrick Street at about 10 p.m on Saturday.

Police found a 43-year-old male exiting the backyard of a neighbouring property who was already under conditions not to be on St. Patrick Street and not to enter any residential property unless invited.

Andrew James Evans was charged with two counts of breach of probation and one charge of trespass by night.

Police said Evans is being held in custody and will appear in court on Dec. 17.
