A 26-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a youth reported a sexual assault at Tillicum Centre.
A female youth said she was inside a store when a man she didn’t know approached her, started talking to her and asked for a hug before sexually assaulting her.
After the man left the store, the youth immediately notified mall security and the man was found in another part of the mall.
Saanich police attended and made an arrest with help from security staff.
“The youth in this case was very courageous,” said Const. Markus Anastasiades. “As she notified security immediately, police were able to identify and arrest this suspect and prevent him from committing further assaults.”
Noel Pich, 26, has been charged with one count of sexual assault and remains in custody.
