Quadra Island RCMP brought an incident involving an armed male to a safe conclusion after he emerged from his home with various weapons.
He had barricaded himself inside and came out randomly with weapons that included a spear and a machete, and also shot rocks from a slingshot at officers.
Police responded on the morning of Oct. 9 when they received a report of a male throwing rocks at a neighbouring home. Police said he was clearly going through a mental-health crisis.
As a negotiator was en route, police managed to apprehend the male. He was taken to hospital in Campbell River for a mental-health evaluation.
