A man has serious injuries after a stabbing in Campbell River early Thursday.

Campbell River RCMP were called about 4:30 a.m. to an area near the corner of 13th Avenue and Dogwood Street, where they found a 31-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.

The victim was taken to hospital and is expected to survive.

Several people were at the scene but did not co-operate with officers, RCMP said, and the victim also refused to provide details.

Police determined that it is likely the victim and his attacker know each other, and they don’t believe there is any ongoing danger to the public.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221.
