A search for a missing man on Gabriola Island Sunday had a happy ending when he was found down an embankment and under some bushes.
He was brought up the bank to a waiting ambulance, where he was treated for minor injuries.
The man had been reported missing by his family about 1 p.m. and was located at about 10 p.m. with help from a search-and-rescue dog. Island District RCMP said he could not be seen or heard from the top of the bank.
Volunteers from the Arrowsmith, Comox, Ladysmith and Nanaimo search-and-rescue teams helped Gabriola RCMP in the effort to find the man. Checks were also made with local businesses and B.C. Ferries.
Police said the man appeared to be in good health and went home with his wife and son.
