A school exposure refers to the presence of a confirmed COVID-19 case or cases during the communicable period. Island Health works with school officials so that any close contacts of someone with COVID-19 are contacted directly.
Students should continue to attend school unless they are contacted by public-health staff.
There are currently 15 schools on the Island Health COVID-19 list, nine of them from the capital region. Schools are kept on the list until 14 days after their last COVID-19 exposure date.
