An early-morning fire caused heavy damage to a Nanaimo house on Wednesday.
Four fire stations responded to a blaze in Nanaimo’s Western Acres neighbourhood at about 5:30 a.m., said Deputy Fire Chief Greg Norman.
No one was in the home when firefighters arrived, said Norman. “All occupants were safe. Everyone was out, no one was home.”
The fire remains under investigation, he said.
Fire inspectors were on the scene Wednesday.
The house has been secured while a cause is determined, Norman said.
