One injury was reported in a two-vehicle collision that closed the Trans-Canada Highway in both directions Friday afternoon.
The incident happened about 1 p.m. in the northbound lanes, just before the exit to the Malahat Skywalk, RCMP said.
A pickup truck and a commercial vehicle collided, with the pickup driver being injured and taken away by ambulance, said Malahat Volunteer Fire Department Chief Tanya Patterson. She said the way the vehicles were positioned and the amount of debris necessitated the highway closure.
The closure lasted until about 2:30 p.m. between Shawnigan Lake Road and Mill Bay Road.
