A Parksville man has been charged with second-degree murder in the killing of his mother, who was found dead in her home two years ago.
Oceanside RCMP said in a statement that James Griffiths was arrested on Friday following a lengthy inquiry by the detachment’s investigation section.
Griffiths, 52, faces second-degree murder charges in the death of his mother, Donna Webster, 78.
Police said Webster was found dead in her Parksville residence in November 2022.
Griffiths made a brief appearance in court for the formal charges on Friday. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 15 in Nanaimo.
