Paving on Malahat near Goldstream starts Friday

Single-lane-alternating traffic will be in effect on the 3.5-kilometre stretch 10 p.m.-5 a.m. Sunday to Thursday, with anticipated delays of as much as 20 minutes

Paving and road improvements begin Friday on the Malahat near Goldstream Provincial Park.

The work will be on a 3.5-kilometre stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway from just south of the Aspen Road intersection to just south of the recently completed repairs at the Tunnel Hill washout site.

Aside from this Friday, work will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday to Thursday, and is expected to be complete near the end of October.

Single-lane-alternating traffic will be in effect between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., with anticipated delays of as much as 20 minutes.

Drivers are encourage to travel outside of construction hours.

Paving on the stretch of the Malahat from the summit to Mill Bay Road began in mid-September and was expected to continue until mid-October.
