Paving and road improvements were rescheduled to begin Thursday instead of Friday on the Malahat near Goldstream Provincial Park.

The work is on a 3.5-kilometre stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway from just south of the Aspen Road intersection to just south of the recently completed repairs at the Tunnel Hill washout site.

Work continues on Friday, but then will take place only from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday to Thursday, and is expected to be complete near the end of October.

Single-lane-alternating traffic will be in effect between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., with anticipated delays of as much as 20 minutes.

Drivers are encouraged to travel outside of construction hours.
