A ping-pong table snatched from a Nanaimo carport is back with its owners.
The owner said the table has been her family’s “saving grace” during the COVID-19 pandemic because it provided countless hours of enjoyment while spending time at home.
She took to Facebook and other social-media outlets to report the theft on Monday, which generated tips for the Nanaimo RCMP.
A police investigation led to a home that is well-known to police, where a search was carried out on Thursday.
Four adults were arrested, with two later charged with possession of stolen property.
Along with the ping-pong table, police found an unloaded shotgun, a stolen motorcycle and a small amount of crystal methamphetamine.
The owner said the family is now keeping the ping-pong table in the basement.
