Shawnigan Lake RCMP is investigating a suspicious fire at the Freemason Lodge in Mill Bay on the weekend.
No one was hurt in the blaze.
Police and firefighters responded to the call on Lashburn Road just before 2 a.m. Sunday.
The first fire trucks arrived within nine minutes, Mill Bay Fire said in a social media post.
Firefighters soon discovered the flames had spread from the first floor through the walls and into the attic.
Crews were on scene for about five hours, Mill Bay Fire said.
Firefighters from the Shawnigan Lake fire department also responded.
Cpl. Alex Bérubé said police and fire investigators examined the scene and discovered evidence that raised suspicions as to the nature of the fire.
Police are asking anyone with information about the fire to call the Shawnigan Lake RCMP at 250-743-5514.
