Oceanside RCMP are investigating a fight Tuesday at a Parksville high school where a student may have been hit with brass knuckles.

Sgt. Shane Worth said police were told about the lunch-hour incident involving four male students in a hallway at Ballenas Secondary.

One person received minor injuries after reportedly being struck with what was believed to be brass knuckles, Worth said.

He said social-media reports that someone was stabbed have been discounted. “We haven’t received any reports or information suggesting anybody at the school was stabbed.”

Worth said police are working with the Qualicum School District and parents of the students involved to determine a resolution.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111.
