Police are continuing to seek witnesses and dashcam footage after a vehicle crashed into the B.C. Liquor Store in a Sidney shopping plaza on Wednesday afternoon, injuring several people.

Three people were taken to hospital by ambulance after the incident, B.C. Emergency Health Services said.

Ren Baricaua, manager of the adjacent Tim Hortons in the Beacon Plaza shopping centre on Beacon Avenue, said his staff saw what happened and one of them called 911.

They could see people on the ground, he said.

A photo posted on social media shows the car involved in the incident with a badly damaged front end, and bricks knocked out of the building.

Sidney-North Saanich RCMP say they are seeking dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident, which occurred about 2:30 p.m.

Police have said they are working to determine the cause of the crash, and that alcohol was not a factor.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 250-656-3931.
