B.C. Hydro is warning a large area of Vancouver Island will be in the dark Saturday night.
The utility has a planned outage for communities north of Sayward and power will be off from 11 p.m. Saturday until 1 a.m. Sunday.
B.C. Hydro said it is doing emergency repairs on damaged equipment.
The outage will affect about 7,500 customers in Port Hardy, Port McNeill, Port Alice, Alert Bay, Beaver Cove, Telegraph Cove and Woss.
