The Capital Regional District is asking for public input about bringing in a development cost charge to help fund drinking-water projects related to local growth.

The charges come when a development is at the subdivision or building-permit stage.

People can weigh in online to a report summarizing the proposed program.

Initial public engagement to help shape the proposal was done in June with two information sessions and an online survey.

The final decision on the program will be made by the CRD board after it receives recommendations from the Regional Water Supply Commission later this year.

Comments can be made until Nov. 9 at getinvolved.crd.bc.ca/water-supply-dcc.
