RCMP concerned about 17-year-old who has not contacted family in more than a week

West Shore RCMP are concerned about a missing teen who hasn’t contacted her family since Sept. 18.

Chelsea Weigel, 17, was first reported missing on Aug. 30 but had some intermittent contact with family. It’s been almost eight days since Weigel has spoken with her family or updated her Facebook page.

RCMP spokeswoman Const. Sarah Beckett said Weigel does have a boyfriend but investigators aren’t sure if she is staying with him.

Weigel is known to frequent downtown Victoria and James Bay.

She is described as five feet five inches tall, about 160 pounds, with very short dark brown or black hair. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
