Lake Cowichan RCMP and the South Island Integrated Marine Unit continue to investigate a collision between a 19-foot boat and a personal watercraft on August 1.
The incident happened a short distance from a public marina on Cowichan Lake. The 20-year-old Surrey man on the personal watercraft was hospitalized with a head injury while the 35-year-old Sooke man operating the boat was not injured.
Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor on the boat operator’s part but is still being investigated in connection with the other man.
