Nanaimo RCMP has renewed its plea for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for assault with a weapon.

The charges stem from an incident in June 2020 when David Thomas allegedly entered a Nanaimo home, discharged bear spray at an occupant and fled.

Although this occurred over four years ago, investigators are still searching for Thomas and have reason to believe that he is in the Nanaimo area, said Reserve Const. Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.

Thomas is described as Indigenous, 5-foot-7 and 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Thomas is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
