Red Barn says thieves stole thousands of dollars in goods in break-in

Break-in early Thursday was at the grocery store’s Mattick’s Farm location

Red Barn Market says thousands of dollars worth of goods were stolen early Thursday in a break-in at its Mattick’s Farm location.

The company posted surveillance photos of the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Two people can be seen in the photos with a shopping cart containing several items. One is wearing a grey hoodie and grey sweatpants, and the other is wearing a dark hoodie and jeans.

“As a small local business, we try hard to support our community, and events like this hurt us all,” the company said in the post.

Saanich police are asking the public to contact them with any information.

“We realize the impact that this crime will have on the Red Barn,’ said Sgt. Damian Kowalewich. “We are continuing to investigate and gather evidence in the hopes of identifying the individuals.”

Call Saanich police at 250-475-4321.
