Nanaimo District Senior Secondary was placed in a hold-and-secure Friday after a report of a youth with a weapon.
Nanaimo RCMP searched the school and the grounds but found nothing. They made phone contact with the youth, who said he had been near the school but did not have a weapon.
Police were satisfied with his responses and the hold-and-secure was lifted.
The procedure, which sees outside doors locked and normal activity inside, was enacted about 11:30 a.m. and lasted until about 1 p.m.
