Elizabeth May has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Green Party MP for Saanich-Gulf Islands said on Twitter that she has been isolating in Ottawa since Thursday and is “very sick.”
“Rates here are crazy high … the illness is no joke,” said May, the parliamentary leader for the Green Party. “I do not think I’ll be hospitalized, but very sick.”
May added that she’s “angry … too many people unmasked.”
May said she returned to Ottawa on March 20 and started isolating when she didn’t feel well. She found out about her positive result on Thursday.
Ontario started experiencing a sixth wave of COVID-19 last week as another variant, BA.2, started infecting increasing numbers of people.
