A series of earthquakes was detected off northern Vancouver Island on Wednesday afternoon.
The first of the quakes, measuring 4.1, occurred about 188 kilometres west of Port Hardy at 2:54 p.m.
It was followed by a 5.1 quake about 10 kilometres farther west at 4:34 p.m. and a third measuring 4.0 at 4:54 p.m.
Earthquakes Canada said there were no reports of damage and no tsunami was expected.
