The Capital Regional District is warning that there could be intermittent odours near the McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant over the next few weeks.

The CRD said that the carbon used to capture odours in the system is nearing the end of its useful life and is being replaced.

Odours can increase while this is happening, the CRD said.

The replacement of the carbon will be complete by Aug. 2, as long as the weather doesn’t change substantially.

Questions about the maintenance work or odours can be directed to [email protected].
