Some B.C. Ferries sailings cancelled Saturday due to high winds

Strong winds prompted B.C. Ferries to cancel several sailings today. Wind warnings are in effect for Greater Victoria, the Southern Gulf Islands and the eastern, western and northern parts of Vancouver Island.

Strong winds prompted B.C. Ferries to cancel several sailings today.

Wind warnings are in effect for Greater Victoria, the Southern Gulf Islands and the eastern, western and northern parts of Vancouver Island. Southeast winds of 70 km/h are expected to develop over exposed coastal sections of east Vancouver Island from Nanoose Bay to Campbell River, the Sunshine Coast, the southern Gulf Islands and Victoria late this afternoon. The western part of the island could see winds of up to 80 km/h.

Tsawwassen/Duke Point

8:15 p.m. departing Vancouver (Tsawwassen)

10:45 p.m. departing Nanaimo (Duke Point)

Horseshoe Bay/Departure Bay

8:45 p.m. departing Nanaimo

10:50 p.m. departing Horseshoe Bay

Denman Island/Hornby Island

All sailings have been cancelled for the remainder of the day

Cortes Island/Quadra Island

All sailings have been cancelled for the remainder of the day

Texada/Powell River

9 p.m. departing Texada Island (Blubber Bay)

9:45 p.m. departing Powell River (Westview)

Comox/Powell River

All sailings have been cancelled for the remainder of the day

Campbell River/Quadra Island

Resume sailing at 7 p.m. departure from Quadra Island

Port McNeill/Alert Bay/Sointula

Resume sailing at 5:55 p.m. departure from Alert Bay
