Surveillance footage shows bear-spray attack on Johnson Street Bridge

Victoria police have released surveillance footage that shows a female youth spraying a man with bear spray on the Johnson Street Bridge.

Police said the Oct. 5 footage shows what appears to be a group of youths walking east on the bridge about 10:15 p.m., while the victim makes his way through them.

A female with a can of bear spray is then seen spraying the victim in the face, while others in the group record the incident on their cellphones, before continuing in the direction of Vic West.

A witness saw the incident and reported it to police.

Officers arrived to search for the youths but were unable to make any arrests due to limited descriptions.
