Suspect in Saanich home invasion, assault identified as William Irving Reedel, 27, of Campbell River

The suspect in a Monday night home invasion that sent an 85-year-old man to hospital has been identified as William Irving Reedel. He is due to appear in court Friday afternoon.

The suspect in a Monday night home invasion that sent an 85-year-old man to hospital has been identified as William Irving Reedel.

He is due to appear in court Friday afternoon.

The 27-year-old Campbell River man is alleged to have forced his way into a home on James Heights in Saanich and assaulted both the man and his 59-year-old daughter.

The daughter was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Saanich police said a 1999 brown Toyota Camry was stolen from the home. The car, with B.C. licence plate number HWM644, is still missing.
