Suspects in Port Alberni stabbing identified, but still at large: RCMP

Two men suspected of stabbing another man in Port Alberni have been identified but remain at large, said police.

On Tuesday, first responders found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds on McIntyre Drive near Wood Avenue at 9 a.m., following a report of a stabbing, said Port Alberni RCMP.

The man was airlifted to Victoria for emergency medical treatment after receiving first aid at the scene.

Police said they spoke to multiple people, reviewed CCTV and deployed police dogs in the ensuing search and investigation.

Two male suspects were last seen running toward Wood Avenue.

Police believe there is no risk to the public.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to contact Port Alberni RCMP at 250-723-2424.
