A 19-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing Monday in a Nanaimo park.
Mark Jayden Harrison was arrested without incident by Nanaimo RCMP on Thursday in the downtown area. He was not one of the two teens arrested earlier in the week and then released in connection with the death.
A 29-year-old man died in the stabbing, which took place about 11:30 a.m. in Maffeo Sutton Park. His friend was pepper-sprayed.
Harrison appeared in Nanaimo provincial court Friday morning and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance Sept. 20.
