West Shore RCMP said the sculptures were found in a ditch in Metchosin after a public tip

Two of three driftwood sculptures stolen from the beach at Esquimalt Lagoon — one depicting a squirrel and the other a kingfisher — have been recovered.

West Shore RCMP said the sculptures were found in a ditch in Metchosin after a public tip.

The third sculpture, a hummingbird, is still missing, while a fourth sculpture of an owl was damaged.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264, or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
