Oak Bay police arrested a man for assault after two people were punched and kicked — and one had to be transported to hospital with injuries — in the 1700-block of Elgin Road last week.

Police responding Nov. 27 found one male victim had been punched several times in the back of the head while a second victim was thrown to the ground and kicked in the head.

The second victim was transported to the hospital by paramedics, police said.

The 66-year-old suspect, who was known to both victims, was later released with conditions to have no contact with the victims.

The extent of the victims’ injuries was not immediately known, but they were not believed to be life threatening, police said.
