Traffic was backed up on the Malahat on Monday after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection with Shawnigan Lake Road.
A vehicle waiting to make a left-hand turn was rear-ended, said Malahat Volunteer Fire Department Chief Tanya Patterson.
The driver of the vehicle that rear-ended the other and a passenger in the rear-ended vehicle were taken to hospital with injuries that did not appear to be major, Patterson said.
The highway was down to single-lane alternating traffic for a period.
