Victoria police seek suspect in Fort Street bus assault

Victoria police are asking the public for help locating a man who randomly assaulted a passenger and pushed others on a city bus.

It happened at about 7.30 p.m. on Sept. 6 on route No. 11 as the B.C. Transit bus travelled along Fort Street.

In a file on Greater Victoria Crimestoppers, police said the man attacked a male without provocation in the presence of the victim’s young daughter.

The victim was punched in the face multiple times before another passenger intervened. The suspect pushed the passenger to the ground before fleeing the scene.

The suspect was caught on a bus camera. He is described as wearing a black Under Armour hat, green hoodie, grey pants, black and white New Balance shoes. He had a brown beard.
