Victoria police are looking for witnesses to an assault with a weapon last weekend.
Police began to receive 911 calls just after midnight Dec. 15 about an incident in the area of Douglas and View streets.
Officers took a man into custody at Fort and Government streets.
Detectives do not think they have spoken everyone who saw what happened.
They ask anyone with information to call 250-995-7654.
