Like hockey? Interested in helping people? Even better, do you feel like getting involved in a major community event?

Organizers of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada events are looking for more volunteers who can help Tuesday through Saturday.

Mark Taylor, the volunteer co-ordinator, says help is still needed for parking and access control throughout the five days.

The event also needs people to help with site support and logistics from Wednesday through to the main event on Saturday.

Taylor is also looking for crowd support and ambassadors, who will provide general assistance at Ship Point, answering questions and helping people get to where they need to go.

The FanZone at Ship Point will feature activities for all ages, including hockey clinics, food trucks, music, chances for player autographs and more.

Hockey Day will give us a chance to see the Stanley Cup — which has featured the Victoria Cougars inscription for almost 99 years.

Broadcaster Ron MacLean will lead a day-long live broadcast from the Inner Harbour starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Volunteers will be encouraged to wear their favourite jersey.

Interested? Email Mark Taylor at [email protected].
