Some clear snow with a shovel while others use more creative means — like a leaf blower.
Laura Rann was walking through Rutledge Park in Saanich on Wednesday morning. It was the perfect winter wonderland — except for a loud, irritating noise.
“I was on my way to work and couldn’t believe that was how Saanich deals with snow,” she tells Glacier Media.
Rann witnessed a person, dressed in a high-visibility jacket, using a leaf blower on a snowy walkway. She caught the bizarre incident on camera.
Glacier Media reached out to the District of Saanich to confirm if the individual was a city employee but did not receive a response by publication.
According to Saanich's noise bylaw, the use of a lawnmower is allowed between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. on any day.
Rann shared the video on Reddit; the clip has blown up, with more than 80 comments and 488 upvotes.
