A qualifier for the Red Bull Pump Track World Championships will headline the inaugural Langford Bikefest on the Canada Day weekend at the Jordie Lunn Bike Park.
Men and women will compete on a new track of rollers and berms in timed races on July 1 for a chance to win a trip to the UCI Red Bull Pump Track World Championships in Chile. The Langford location is part of a series of international qualifiers held in Italy, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Germany and the United States.
The Langford Bikefest will also feature the new Live Like Jordie Enduro as part of the Island Cup Enduro Series.
Children and families will take part in the new Hop On presented by iRide Expo, where free drop-in skills and games sessions will be offered during the weekend of the festival. Children between three and 12 can drop by the iRide biking zone to learn new skills and fun cycling games. Kids can also borrow a bicycle and helmet provided by Cycling B.C.
“The City of Langford is all about recreation and sport, and the new Langford Bikefest including the Red Bull World Championships qualifier will showcase our world-class Jordie Lunn Bike Park and new trails to residents and visitors,” said Langford Mayor Stew Young.
