A 3.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the west coast of Vancouver Island about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Natural Resources Canada said the quake was located 535 kilometres west of Victoria and 266 kilometres west southwest of Port Alice.
The quake was not felt and no tsunami was expected, the federal agency said.
On Saturday, a 3.9-magnitude quake was reported eight kilometres north of Banff. It was lightly felt in that community as well as in Canmore and Sparwood.
