The body of a 49-year-old man was recovered Friday from Kemp Lake, near Sooke.
The man is believed to have drowned and no foul play is suspected.
Sooke RCMP were called just after 7 a.m. by the people who discovered the body.
“Our members immediately responded to the area with the assistance of the RCMP Dive Team,” said Staff Sgt. Brett Sinden.
He said the man has been identified and next of kin has been contacted.
“Our thoughts are with the family and anyone affected by this tragic discovery,” said Staff Sgt. Brett Sinden. “We continue to support the B.C. Coroners Service in their investigation.”
