B.C. Ferries is adding 89 sailings on its busiest routes for the Victoria Day holiday weekend.

The holiday schedule will be in effect Thursday, May 18, through Tuesday, May 23.

It includes:

• 60 extra sailings between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen

• 15 extra sailings between Departure Bay and Horseshoe Bay

• 10 extra sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale on the Sunshine Coast

• Four extra sailings between Earl’s Cove in Sechelt and Saltery Bay in Powell River

The busiest travel times for the long weekend are expected to be Thursday and Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning, with the majority of traffic departing from the Tsawwassen and Horseshoe Bay terminals. Historically, sailings departing Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast are busier on the holiday Monday.

For ferry passengers who have some flexibility in their travel times, B.C. Ferries is offering reduced fares during less and busy periods.
