Three Victoria Fire Department engine companies attended to a single-family house fire that broke out Friday evening at an older character home at on Quamichan Street.
The blaze, called in at 8:30 p.m., was confined to the attic and roof area of a Craftsman-style house located in the Gonzales area.
Crews were able to access the attic space to battle the fire, which was quickly spreading to other parts of the house.
There were no reports of injury to the home’s occupants. Damage to the house is estimated at $150,000, the fire department said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
