No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a single-family house on Eagle Crescent in Gold River on Friday night.
The community has rallied to help the family displaced by the blaze, Gold River Mayor Brad Unger said Saturday.
The family is staying in a hotel for now, local residents are dropping off clothes, and a community bake sale to raise money is planned on Monday, he said.
Reported about 6:45 p.m., the fire was under control in about an hour, he said. The cause is not known.
About a dozen firefighters were at the scene. A house next door appeared to have suffered some heat damage on one side, Unger said.
