Three people were arrested and drugs and weapons were seized as West Shore RCMP executed three simultaneous search warrants at homes in Colwood, Langford and Sooke.
The searches were made with help from police dog Erik on Feb. 26 after a two-month investigation. Police said they also uncovered evidence of a drug-trafficking network.
Among the items seized were one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine, one kilogram of suspected psilocybin, 11 ounces of suspected fentanyl, six ounces of suspected heroin and five ounces of suspected cocaine. Police also found a loaded shotgun, two loaded pistol magazines, other weapons such as brass knuckles and a stun baton, five luxury vehicles, two all-terrain vehicles, a wake boat and $12,000 in Canadian currency.
Arrested were a 31-year-old Langford man, a 28-year-old Langford woman and an 27-year-old Colwood man.
“Numerous resources as well as a variety of covert investigative techniques were utilized during this investigation,” said Const. Alex Berube. “The disruption of such a drug-trafficking operation is key to keeping our communities safe.”
