Comox Valley RCMP continue to investigate a June 3 crash on Island Highway South in Union Bay that killed a 48-year-old woman.
Witnesses called police about 11:40 a.m. to report that an SUV had gone off the road and down an embankment.
The woman, a passenger in the vehicle, was trapped beneath it and several witnesses were able to lift it off her. She had to be airlifted to hospital and died the next day.
The driver sustained minor injuries.
Investigators are looking for witnesses and dashcam footage.
