Victoria police have arrested a suspect in connection with a series of violent incidents that include brandishing a machete after assaulting a woman Sunday in Stadacona Park, near Oak Bay and Pandora avenues.
Police issued a community alert about Chadwick Wsiaki, who was also wanted on Canada-wide warrants, on Monday and arrested him just before midnight in Hollywood Park on Fairfield Road. He tried to hide his identity by wearing a disguise.
Tips from the public helped in the investigation, police said.
