An unattended bag caused a 50 minute delay on a ferry leaving Horseshoe Bay bound for Departure Bay this morning.
Crew found the bag before the Queen of Oak Bay left for the scheduled 11:05 a.m. departure, and thought that someone was missing, said Deborah Marshall, executive director of public affairs for B.C. Ferries. Police found the bag’s owner in Horseshoe Bay. The person had travelled from Departure Bay on the 8:45 a.m. sailing and forgotten the bag on the boat, Marshall said.
The ferry left at 11:55 a.m., 50 minutes behind schedule. Marshall said crew will try to make up time, but departures on the route will continue to be delayed throughout the day.
