Items stolen from the set of the Netflix series Maid have turned up in a search carried out by the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.
The set was hit by thieves in April. A trailer was broken into and items such as electronics and a credit card were taken.
The Crime Reduction Unit, which targets prolific offenders and property-related offences, was able to track down a 43-year-old Colwood resident who is well-known to police.
During the search of the suspect’s residence, police found not only items from the trailer but drugs — including suspected fentanyl — and items related to drug trafficking.
“Property crime is a priority for the West Shore RCMP detachment,” said Supt. Todd Preston, officer in charge. “This is the type of crime that may not always have a large value amount but impacts a large number of people. It violates that feeling of safety within our homes, businesses or vehicles.
“That is why our Crime Reduction Unit targets these offences, reinforcing the message to thieves in the area that we will continue to arrest them and charge them.”
