Health Challenge is history, now for the real work!

I've written the last story for the series of stories on the Times Colonist Health Challenge, a 12-week fitness initiative that included personal training, nutrition advice, mental coaching and financial advice.

I've written the last story for the series of stories on the Times Colonist Health Challenge, a 12-week fitness initiative that included personal training, nutrition advice, mental coaching and financial advice.

It was a great experience, and I enjoyed watching the other finalists embrace the challenge and successfully change their lives.

They each lost from 12 to 52 pounds.

I lost one pound, but it looks like 10. I have less fat and more muscle on my middle-aged body, and I am curious to see how far I can take this fitness thing. For me, success breeds success.

I've pretty much recovered from my broken limbs. My kitchen gut and rebuild was a wild success, and I now have a heavenly place to craft healthy meals.

The first 12 weeks was just a warm-up. I will return to PISE for personal training next week, and will be focusing just on me. No more hunting out ideas for stories. I'm quite happy not to have TC photographers shooting me mid-crunch.

I'm excited to see what I can achieve over the next three months. I'll keep you posted through the blog.
